What is the Productivity Places Program (PPP) FREE training about?

Free PPP training providers and courses are listed below.

The PPP is part of the Australian Government's Skilling Australia for the Future initiative. The PPP aims to provide access to up to 711,000 qualifications over 5 years, from 2007 to 2012, for existing workers wanting to gain or upgrade their skills, and for job seekers wishing to enter the workforce.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for a PPP fully funded training place, candidates must be an Australian citizen (or permanent resident), over the age of 17 and must meet one of the criteria below:

  • Registered with a Job Services Australia (JSA) Provider, or
  • An income support recipient not currently required to meet an activity test or participant requirements, or
  • A participant in the Community Development Employment Projects scheme, or
  • Not currently working and seeking or intending to seek paid employment or self-employment after completing the qualification, or
  • A participant in the Commonwealth's Access Program, or
  • Not working and is participating in volunteering activities, or
  • Workers who have been retrenched or have received formal notification of retrenchment.

To be eligible for PPP funding, candidates must also reside in South Australia.

Flinders University offers guaranteed entry using TAFElink

Flinders University offers guaranteed entry to selected courses for applicants who have completed a TAFE/VET certificate 4 or higher level qualification (provided the applicant meets the course prerequisite requirements).

Your TAFE/VET qualification does not need to be related to your selected area of study at Flinders and with credit offered in most Flinders courses for holders of TAFE/VET qualifications, you can reduce the time required to complete their Flinders course.
